Genshin Impact 2.2: Thoma release date, abilities, and many more

Thoma will make an appearance in Genshin Impact 2.2's second half very soon. Childe's rerun banner was displayed in the first half of Genshin Impact 2.2, and a Hu Tao rerun will be featured in the second half. Thoma is a Pyro Polearm user with a 4-star rating who will appear on the latter. Thoma is the sole new character introduced in this update, and there's a lot to learn about him.

Everything has been disclosed, from his ascension materials to his skills. Specific figures, like all leaks, are subject to change in the final release.

Important facts about Thoma in Genshin Impact 2.2

The release date for Thoma is November 2, 2021. He'll be accessible under the Moment of Bloom brand, which also includes Hu Tao. The banner will remain in place until November 23, 2021. The final two 4-star figures on this banner have yet to be disclosed by miHoYo.

The powers of Thoma in Genshin Impact 2.2

Thoma is a shield-specialist 4-star Pyro Polearm user. Blazing Blessing is the name of his Elemental Skill. It summons a shield (Blazing Barrier) with a DMG Absorption scale based on his maximum HP and the ability to absorb Pyro DMG 250 percent more effectively.

If it's a new Blazing Barrier, the old one's DMG Absorption will stack and the duration will be refreshed. The Elemental Skill has a 15-second cooldown and the shield lasts for eight seconds.

Crimson Ooyoroi is Thoma's Elemental Burst in Genshin Impact 2.2. It delivers Pyro DMG in an AOE and activates the Scorching Ooyoroi effect. This effect causes Fiery Collapse on the active character's Normal Attacks, adding additional Pyro DMG in an AOE. This part of the effect occurs once every second.

Similar to the Elemental Skill, Scorching Ooyoroi also creates Blazing Barriers. If Thoma falls, the effects caused by Scorching Ooyoroi dissipate. The Scorching Ooyoroi has a 15-second cooldown and his Elemental Burst has a 20-second cooldown.

Thoma’s passives in Genshin Impact 2.2

Thoma, like most Genshin Impact characters, has three passive abilities. When fishing in Inazuma, his initial passive has a 20% chance of assisting players in obtaining another fish.

Thoma's second passive boosts shield strength by 5% for six seconds every 0.3 seconds for a total of five stacks. When the active character receives a Blazing Barrier, this rule only applies. His third passive boosts the Fiery Collapse DMG of his Elemental Burst by 2.2 percent of his Max HP.

Thoma’s Constellations in Genshin Impact 2.2

When a character is attacked while Thoma's Blazing Barrier is active, Thoma's first Constellation reduces the cooldown of his Elemental Skill by three seconds. In addition, the cooldown of his Elemental Burst is reduced by three seconds. Only once every 20 seconds is it possible.

His second Constellation extends the duration of his Elemental Burst by three seconds. The third Constellation raises his Elemental Skill's level by three levels, bringing it to a maximum level of 15.

After Thoma utilizes his Elemental burst, his fourth Constellation returns 15 Energy. His fifth Constellation works in the same way as his third, but it also affects his Elemental Burst.

When a Blazing Barrier is applied, Thoma's last Constellation in Genshin Impact 2.2 boosts all-party members' Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks by 15% for six seconds.
