Genshin Impact Dragonspine region: Snow-Tombed Starsilver, Crimson Agate, and more

To this day, the Genshin Impact Dragonspine region remains the toughest part of Teyvat. Those who are used to the lush greenery of Mondstadt and Liyue may be surprised by the snowy scene. But there's more than enough cause to rush into the mountains: Dragonspine is chock-full of challenges, Primogem rewards, and free four-star weapon blueprints like the Snow-Tombed Starsilver obtained from the Stone Tablet puzzle.

The Frostbearing Tree and the Peak of Vindagnyr Domain are the most significant gameplay features in the Genshin Impact Dragonspine region. They'll give you some fantastic gifts if you can tolerate the extreme cold (more on that below). Everything you need to know about Dragonspine is right here!

Stay warm in Dragonspine: sheer cold meter

The most difficult aspect of Dragonspine is the extreme cold. A 'Sheer Cold' meter will appear at the bottom of each player's screen, indicating how long it will be before their characters begin to lose HP. Snowstorms will reduce the amount of time you can spend outside before the meter runs out. Also, be cautious around water; no Genshin Impact character appreciates a chilly dip!

There are a few techniques to slow down the Sheer Cold besides avoiding snowstorms and swimming (or leaving the area altogether):

• Start a fire. Yes, simply light some braziers, torches, or any other cooking sources you may come upon.
• Statues of the Seven and Teleport Waypoints will also protect you.
• Get close to Warming Seelies. They are the same as Mondstadt/Liyue Seelies, but… well, warmer.
• Make Goulash from meat, carrots, and tomato. This will decrease the speed of the Sheer Cold meter for 15 minutes. You need to complete the ‘Ah, Fresh Meat!’ quest to get the recipe.
• Make a Warming Bottle. You can only do this once your Frostbearing Tree level reaches 4 though (more on that below).
• Collect Scarlet Quartz. This is a special resource found only in Dragonspine. It will hold off Sheer Cold for some time.

Free Genshin Impact four-star weapons in Dragonspine

In the Dragonspine region, you can receive a few free four-star weapon blueprints. It's a good idea to pick these up because four-star weapons in Genshin Impact are mainly earned through Wishes (and hence are fairly rare). In Dragonspine, you can obtain the following four-star weapons:

• Dragonspine Spear (Polearm): Normal and Charged attacks have a chance to drop an icicle on the target. You will receive the diagram for this weapon after completing the 'Festering Fang' quest.
• Snow-Tombed Starsilver (Claymore): Normal and Charged attacks have a chance to drop an icicle on the target, dealing AoE attack damage. Complete the Dragonspine Stone Tablets puzzle to receive it for free.
• Frostbearer (Catalyst): this weapon has a chance to hit the target with an icicle as well. When you reach level 10 of the Frostbearing Tree, you will receive the blueprint.

Unfortunately, because the free four-star Sword 'Festering Desire' was an event-only Dragonspine weapon, it is no longer accessible. Festering Desire was a reward in the 'The Chalk Prince and the Dragon: Act I' Genshin Impact 1.2 event.

How to unlock the Peak of Vindagnyr Dragonspine Domain

The Peak of Vindagnyr is an excellent place to look for priceless artifacts. However, you must first finish the 'In the Mountains' quest before entering the Dragonspine Domain. After chatting with Iris in the Dragonspine encampment, it becomes available. The following five-star Artifact drops may be found on the Peak of Vindagnyr Domain:

• Blizzard Strayer is a game that takes place in a blizzard. When assaulting a frozen character, a 2-piece set offers a 15% Cryo damage bonus, while a 4-piece set increases your critical rate.
• Heart of the Matter. After using an Elemental Skill, a 2-piece set provides you a 15% Hydro damage bonus, while a 4-piece set raises your Normal and Charged Attack damage by 30%.

How to upgrade the Frostbearing Tree in Dragonspine

In Dragonspine, the Frostbearing Tree is a significant new addition. The concept is similar to that of the Statues of the Seven: while exploring, you must collect certain materials, which you must then deliver to the Frostbearing Tree in exchange for special benefits.

'Crimson Agate' is the resource required to level up the Frostbearing Tree. It's a crimson, glowing resource that can be found in Dragonspine. The Frostbearing Tree will level up once you have provided enough Crimson Agate, and you will be rewarded with Mora, Enhancement Ore, Wishes, Crafting Material, Character Experience, and much more.

It's worth noting that the Crimson Wish will only be available once you've reached Frostbearing Tree level 8. After attaining this level, you won't need to look for Crimson Agate; simply complete the Crimson Wish challenges.
