Elden Ring Multiplayer Guide

Elden Ring, like the previous games from From Software, allows players to summon allies and invade other people in multiplayer mode. This time around, summoning works a little differently, but the essential principle remains the same as in Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Elden Ring tries a lot to streamline the co-op and PVP experiences, but there isn't an easy invite system or anything like that. Everything you need to know about Elden Ring multiplayer, including how to invite friends and infiltrate other players, is right here.

Elden Ring Multiplayer Summoning Explained

Multiplayer in Elden Ring is controlled through a variety of things, exactly like in previous From Software games. This time, they're known as Fingers. Thankfully, in Elden Ring, all multiplayer objects are located under the multiplayer portion of the pause menu. You won't have to go through your regular inventory to locate them. That menu has everything you'll need for multiplayer, from co-op to PVP.

Here are all 7 summoning items in Elden Ring and their purposes:
  • Furcalling Finger Remedy: This allows you to see summon signs in the world. You can interact with summon signs to invite a player, join forces, or battle against someone
  • Finger Severer: This removes a summoned player from your game.
  • Tarnished’s Furled Finger: This leaves a gold to summon sign for co-op. Other players can invite you by interacting with this summon sign.
  • Duelist’s Furled Finger: This leaves a red summon sign. Players can interact with this summon sign on their end to summon you for a PVP duel.
  • Bloody Finger: This allows you to invade another player.
  • Blue Cipher Ring: This puts you on a waiting list for players who need assistance during invasions. If someone needs help during an invasion, you’ll be summoned to their world.
  • White Cipher Ring: This allows you to call for help during invasions. Other players can help you out when you’re being invaded.
Simply utilize the appropriate item for the situation to play multiplayer in Elden Ring. To enable summoning signs and effectively turn on multiplayer, make sure you utilize the Furcalling Finger Remedy.

How to Play With Friends in Elden Ring

Make sure you have your friend's Online ID before playing Elden Ring with them. Navigate to System>Network from the settings menu. Set "Display Player Names" to "Online ID" after that. You'll be able to tell who left a summoning sign this way.

Make sure to set a Multiplayer Password in the Multiplayer menu with the Fingers so that only your pals can join your session. Make a summoning sign with a Tarnished's Furled Finger at a preset location for you and your friends once you've set a password. It's ideal to put one near a Site of Grace or a similar easily accessible area.

Allow your friend to visit the site and interact with your summoning sign after you've left it with a password. They should be able to join your game as long as they know the password.

How to Invade Other Players in Elden Ring

The approach is largely the same if you wish to invade other gamers. The only significant distinction is the finger that must be used. Leave a red summoning sign for voluntary duels with a Duelist's Bloody Finger, or invade an available player without warning with a Bloody Finger.

There aren't many differences between this game and past From Software games when it comes to invasions. Offline players cannot be invaded, and you can only invade people in specific parts of the game. However, because Elden Ring is an open-world game, the invasion zones are significantly larger. Good luck, and do your best.
