Fortnite Chapter 3: How to use the tent

The tent is one of the new mechanics added in Chapter 3 Season 1 of Fortnite. The tent is a very handy item that can be found in the same way as any other prize while playing a game. After you've found a Tent item, toss it down to build it like any other thrown item, and then rest in it to heal. You can even store up to three items safely in your Tent for future matches. Two item slots are available by default, with a third spot available for hire with Bars. In future matches, you'll just need to find a new Tent or one of the numerous derelict ones scattered over the map to gather your stuff.

Start a group campground if you're playing in a Duos, Trios, or Squads team to take in the sights together. After a teammate places a Tent on the ground, other teammates can interact with it to buy their own Tent with Bars. Tents can also be dismantled and transported, and your belongings will remain in the tent until you can reassemble them and retrieve them from the cache.

Tents will come in handy if you come across a duplicate high-tier weapon that you don't need, as you may put up your tent, stow the weapon, and then continue on your way, knowing it will be there for you the next round if you need it.
