Since its release in September of 2020, Genshin Impact has been a breakout success for Chinese developer miHoYo, not only for the breadth of its open-world RPG gameplay but also for its enormous and increasing cast of iconic characters. The enormous RPG contains a roster of 44 unique playable characters and two new characters,

Shenhe and Yun Jin, have already been confirmed for the game's impending 2.4 updates. MiHoYo has unveiled new aesthetic options for two of Liyue's most popular characters, in addition to the newest characters from the China-based Liyue area.

Skins have been significantly less common in Genshin Impact than the 2-3 new characters that are usually added with each new release. Despite the fact that many fans of the game have requested skins for the game's large cast, the creators have only created two skins for Mondstadt's Barbara and Jean, despite fan desire for more cosmetics to give their favorite characters a fresh look.

However, the teaser for the 2.4 updates of Genshin Impact revealed that Genshin veterans Keqing and Ningguang will be the first Liyue characters to get their own skins.

Genshin Impact's 2.4 update video officially unveiled new formal-looking skins coming for Ningguang and Keqing, along with a slew of other announcements, like the 2022 edition of Liyue's annual 'Lantern Rite' event.

The newly-announced clothes, dubbed 'Orchid's Evening Gown' and 'Opulent Splendor,' replace Ningguang and Keqing's typical ensembles with a pair of breathtaking dresses, with Ningguang wearing a flowing blue gown and Keqing wearing a mix of black, blue, and her distinctive purple. The new skins' pricing has not been revealed, but if they are priced similarly to previous skins, fans should expect to pay roughly $30 USD.

The skins for Ningguang and Keqing will be the first skins added by Genshin Impact since the 'Midsummer Island Adventure' update in May, which included beach-themed clothes for Barbara and Jean. Character cosmetics have taken a backseat to the expansion of the playable universe of Teyvat in the second half of 2021, as the game has continued to add to its pool of characters and the in-game world of Genshin Impact has increased dramatically with the introduction of Inazuma in July.

MiHoYo delivered a plethora of announcements at the special program for Genshin Impact's newest update, including the radiant skins of Ningguang and Keqing. The 2.4 updates, dubbed 'Fleeting Colors in Flight,' will include not just the previously stated Lantern Rite events, but also the addition of the Enkanomiya region to Inazuma, as well as a new boss to face.

The 2.4 update for Genshin Impact intends to provide players lots of fresh reasons to explore Teyvat, as well as additional aesthetic options to help their group dress for the event.
