Slitterhead: Release Date, Trailer, And Everything You Need To Know
Bokeh Game Studio's Slitterhead is a horror game. Keiichiro Toyama of Gravity Rush and Silent Hill fame founded the indie company in 2020. After departing Team Silent, Toyama created the lesser-known Siren intellectual property during the PlayStation 2 period. It may not have received as well as the others, but it still has a devoted fanbase. When will you be able to purchase Slitterhead?
Slitterhead does not yet have a firm release date, nor has it been revealed which platforms it will be available on. More information will almost certainly become available in 2022. The game appears to take a far more forceful approach to horror than the devs' previous horror attempts, which have always been slow-paced. Akira Yamaoka, a veteran of the original Team Silent, composed the soundtrack, which will appeal to survival horror lovers.
The creature designs in the Slitterhead announcement trailer were similar to those in Silent Hill, which many found unnerving. Rather than veering too far into the realm of the bizarre, all of the monster designs appear to be based on human anatomy. Unfamiliar body parts and human features are distorted and presented in strange ways, giving a similar sensation of discomfort as the Silent Hill franchise's many vaguely human creatures.
All of this leads us to today, the formal release of Bokeh's debut game, Slitterhead, with its instantly distinctive title. Specifics are still scarce, but we do know it will feature music from Akira Yamaoka, well known for creating the famous music and soundscapes of the Silent Hill series.
The accompanying teaser trailer, which you can see above, is heavy on the body horror, but it's the sheer amount of action that's most surprising, with limbs getting lopped off and more, implying that Slitterhead may not be the pure horror experience Toyama fans were hoping for.
