Grotto 2.0 in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1
The Grotto POI appears to be returning in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 with a brand new avatar, according to the game's creators. The grotto is a long-running locale that first appeared in Chapter 2 Season 2 between Dirty Docks and Retail Row. The organization A.L.T.E.R. built the underground complex, which was heavily guarded.
The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 map, with Epic turning the map on its axis, maybe the best map refresh for the game. New leaks, on the other hand, claim that the devs are considering adding "Grotto 2.0" to the Chapter 3 Season 1 map.
When the IO arrive on the map in Week 6/7 with their drillers they'll have 5 outposts on the map around The Seven and an actual POI called "Covert Canyon" and codenamed "Crazy Cave", it's a counterpart of "The Sanctuary" and probably the Mythic SMG location too.

Epic may bring Grotto 2.0 in the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 map, according to leaks
Winterfest 2021 is presently in full swing, and the entire island is soaked in Christmas cheer and festivities. While the holiday season is the ideal time to unwind, Epic appears to be hard at work on the mid-season update once the holiday event has over. According to new sources, the developers are planning a major update for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 (due in the second week of January), which would include significant map improvements.
According to HYPEX, the IO will arrive "with their drillers" during Week 6 or 7 of Chapter 3 Season 1 and will have managed to build up 5 outposts on the map around The Seven.
The leaker also claims that users will receive a "Covert Canyon" equivalent dubbed "Crazy Cave," which will be released alongside "The Sanctuary." A leaked Fortnite mission also instructs players to "gather various types of weapons at Covert Canyon or the Sanctuary."
This new location could look a lot like the previous Grotto, but with a few design changes. HYPEX has even mentioned the possibility of a Mythic SMG site. As a result, a fresh update might provide players with a brand new mythological weapon in the middle of the season.
Epic is "working on a (big?) mid-season upgrade," according to another leaker ShiinaBR. Some strings in the game hint that Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 will get a "mid-season" upgrade, according to the leaker. While there isn't much information regarding the update, it's safe to presume that it will set the stage for the next major event.
