In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1, you can acquire the brand new Crescent Shroom Pickaxe for free. The Fortnite Winterfest this year was a game-breaking event, and even Epic Games didn't expect the Christmas celebration to crash their servers. Everyone enjoyed and appreciated the creators giving out 14 days of free rewards during the festival, but it appears that Epic is continuing to give away free things.

Epic Games is sending gamers a surprise extra present called the Crescent Shroom Pickaxe as an apology for server troubles that occurred near the end of December. In Fortnite Chapter 3, here's how to receive the final Winterfest 2021 present.

How to Get Free Crescent Shroom Pickaxe in Fortnite Chapter 3

All you have to do to get the Crescent Shroom Pickaxe is make sure you've signed in during the Fortnite Winterfest 2021 event. On January 6, 2022, the holiday festivity will come to an end. According to Epic's tweet, "everyone who checked in during Winterfest will receive the new Crescent Shroom Pickaxe before it comes in the Shop later."

Epic Games is also hosting a Power Leveling Weekend from January 7 to 10, which will be a great way to earn XP and progress through the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass. Those who didn't log in during the holiday event will be able to acquire the Crescent Shroom Pickaxe from the Fortnite Item Store when it becomes available. The creators have yet to reveal how much the pickaxe will cost in V-bucks, but based on pure guesswork, the item might cost somewhere between 800 and 1200 V-Bucks.

Epic is giving players the chance to grab the Crescent Shroom Pickaxe, which is a matching cosmetic for the upcoming Madcap skin. The Madcap skin will be added sometime during Chapter 3 Season 1 according to leaks. Epic has modified the outfit to include the wording "Introduced in Chapter 3, Season 1" in the game, according to prominent Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR. 

Another well-known leaker, HYPEX, claims that a Madcap bundle will be released, which will include the skin, a backbling, and a pickaxe. The skin, however, does not yet have a release date. It's possible that the skin, along with the pickaxe, will be included in the mid-season update.
