Genshin Impact update 2.4 patch notes: Release date, Yun Jin & Shenhe, Lantern Rite, and Enkanomiya details

The Genshin Impact update 2.4 has arrived, bringing with it two new characters in Yun Jin and Shenhe, as well as an upgrade to the Inazuma map with the addition of a new region called Enkanomiya, and more. Genshin Impact update 2.4 release date

The Version 2.4 update for Genshin Impact will run from January 5 through February 15, 2022. Individual banners will be split across the two halves of the update, so keep an eye on the list below to make sure you're rolling for the appropriate characters at the right time.

New characters Yun Jin, Shenhe coming in Genshin Impact update 2.4

Yun Jin and Shenhe will be released in Genshin Impact update 2.4 after months in the files. Yun Jin was widely speculated to be the first Dendro character in Genshin Impact, however, it has since been established that she would be a Geo Polearm. Those looking for an early Dendro release will have to wait a little longer. She presently appears as an NPC in the game, serenading Liyue with her opera performances.

Shenhe was thought to be the Cloud Retainer's human form, however, she only has a tight relationship with the Adeptus. She is a Cryo-Polearm user and a five-star character.

Ganyu, Xiao, Zhongli re-runs confirmed

Ganyu, Xiao, and Zhongli, three Liyue five-stars, will also be getting re-runs in update 2.4. In the first half of the update, Xiao's rerun will show alongside Shenhe's banner. On both banners, the four-star Yun Jin will be a highlighted rate-up character. By the time Lantern Rite appears in the second half of the update, Ganyu and Zhongli will have their own banners up.

Genshin Impact update 2.4 map update: Enkanomiya details

While earlier leaks suggested that The Chasm, located west of Liyue, would be included in Genshin Impact update 2.4, the game's release has been postponed.

Instead, gamers will spend another patch in Inazuma, this time exploring Enkanomiya. The underground palace near Sangonomiya Shrine will investigate what many believe to be the Watatsumi people's birthplace.

A new three-headed hydra monster, as well as new Bathysmal Vishap foes and Specter kinds for Cryo, Electro, and Pyro, will be found in this new section.

Lantern Rite returns in Genshin Impact update 2.4

In Genshin Impact version 2.4, the iconic Lantern Rite event returns just in time for Chinese New Year. Players can expect a variety of log-in awards, free Liyue characters, and skins for Keqing and Ningguang in this event, dubbed Fleeting Colors in Flight.

Ningguang & Yun Jin hangout events added

Ningguang, it turns out, will not only get a new look, but also a new event. Ningguang and Yun Jin will receive their first Hangout Events as part of the new story missions in Genshin Impact update 2.4.

Once the update is out, players will be able to unlock both for two narrative keys. In lieu of a standard tale quest, which four-star characters do not receive, the events are a fantastic chance to learn a little more about each character's past.
