Valorant: Jett Abilities, tips, and How to play
Jett is a duelist from Korea who prefers to work with the wind in her sails. Jett's kit is ideal for those who like to push the limits and play aggressively. If you want to get the most out of this agent, here's a Valorant Jett tutorial you may use. Jett is all about speed and dexterity. Aside from Reyna, she's in a league of her own for her ability to engage in combat head-on while avoiding retaliation.
Jett is the only character who can cross the map as well as Jett. But what is it about Jett that gives her the upper hand over the rest of the server's Agents? Here's how Valorant's nimble cloud-surfing Agent works.
Valorant Jett: abilities
Jett's abilities are immediately apparent as having an elusive combat style. Let's take a look at the Duelist's ability set, which includes the capacity to run circles around her opponents in the blink of an eye:
Ability 1 — Cloudburst (200 Creds): THROW A PROJECTILE INSTANTLY that grows into a brief vision-blocking cloud when it collides with a surface. HOLD DOWN the ability key to steer the smoke toward your crosshair. It takes 4.5 seconds for the smoke to dissipate.
Ability 2 — Updraft (150 Creds): PROPEL Jett HIGH IN THE AIR INSTANTLY.
Signature Ability — Tailwind (1 free, 2 kill recharge): propels her in the direction she is heading in an instant. Jett will propel ahead even though she is standing stationary.
Ultimate Ability — Blade Storm (7 Points): EQUIP yourself with a set of razor-sharp throwing knives that replenish when you kill an opponent. FIRE to hurl a single knife at your intended victim. Toss all remaining daggers at your target with ALTERNATE FIRE.
With two movement abilities and a passive that allows her to hover on air, she can get into some fairly strange situations without attracting the attention of her foes. Then you may wipe them out with your guns or Blade Storm, and then send out a Cloudburst to get away quickly.
How to play Jett
Jett's playstyle is heavily based on her Updraft and Tailwind skills, which when combined make her a nimble Agent. Every round, the Signature Ability will regenerate, while Updraft will only cost you 150 Creds.
Updraft has two charges, whereas Tailwind only has one, so you'll have to be extremely strategic about how you use each ability. If you use them wisely, you can reclaim a charge of Tailwind after only two frags.
Combining Updraft and Tailwind will typically offer you an advantage if you're all about taking the fight to your opponent. If you're in a tight place and don't want to be traded by an adversary, you can use both of these skills to get out of it.
Jett's floating passively can also be used to jump to ledges that other players can't normally reach. Use this to gain different perspectives on your opponents that you wouldn't otherwise see. Jett has also become the game's designated Operator user over the span of Valorant's brief existence. This is due to her ability to sneak around, grab a frag, and dash to safety. Even though it's been nerfed over time, it's still the best method to play Jett.
Jett's Blade Storm is also an excellent tool for assisting in the economic stabilization of teams. If you take Blade Storm into a round, you can choose to skip buying guns and instead kill one adversary and grab theirs.
Blade Storm is good in all situations because it is a one-shot headshot at all ranges and deals 50 damage to any other portion of the body. It's highly lethal when combined with her other skills to take advantage of its 100 percent movement precision.
Jett's Blade Storm, on the other hand, now has a new caveat: the right-click no longer recharges on kill. It's a big difference, so stick to left-clicking unless you're sure you won't need the knives again that round.
Finally, Jett's Cloudbursts are more commonly used to conceal an escape than to smoke off a location (or stop enemy utility like Sova darts). By throwing them against a wall, you may create one-ways, giving you an advantage in those duels where Jett already thrives.
