Will The Batman be delayed? Warner Bros. boss Jason Kilar gives an update

The Batman has had its fair share of setbacks, and with COVID cases on the rise once more, its March release schedule may be in jeopardy. However, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar has provided an update on the film's release - and it's positive.

"We're certainly paying attention to everything going on with Omicron," Kilar told Puck News (H/T ComicBook.com). "We feel good about the date right now. We're gonna watch it day by day."

The Batman was originally scheduled to be released in June 2021 but was pushed back to October 2021, then back to March 2022. While the pandemic has gotten more widespread in recent weeks, Spider-Man: No Way Home has become one of the highest-grossing films of all time, thanks to an exclusive cinema release.

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular vigilante and Paul Dano as the film's principal adversary, the Riddler. The Penguin is played by Colin Farrell, while Catwoman is played by Zoe Kravitz, Alfred is played by Andy Serkis, and Jim Gordon is played by Jeffrey Wright. Barry Keoghan has also been cast in the film, possibly as the Joker, though this has yet to be verified. Matt Reeves is the director.

New images from the film have been released, providing the finest look yet at the Riddler's eerie suit, as well as Gordon and Batman allegedly cooperating in a mortuary. Two HBO Max spin-offs are in development for the picture, one focusing on corruption in the Gotham City Police Department and the other on Farrell's Penguin.

The Batman is set to hit theatres on March 4th. Meanwhile, for the ultimate movie marathon, check out our guide to watching DC flicks.
