How to report players in Sea of Thieves

Because of the community-driven nature of Sea of Thieves, you'll almost certainly end up playing with strangers at some time. Every open session is a gamble because online experiences differ from person to person. Even if you're playing alone, there's a chance you'll run into members of other crews. If you come across a toxic player who is ruining your experience, our guide will show you how to report them.

Sea of Thieves, unlike other multiplayer games, does not include an in-game mechanism to report players. Any complaints should be directed to the Sea of Thieves support site rather than the game itself.

Visit the Sea of Thieves website for a direct channel of communication with the development team. When you click the support tab at the top of the page, a drop-down menu appears, with "send a report" as one of the alternatives. This takes you to a new page where you can start the submission process by selecting "raise a support request" at the bottom. It's important to note that you can't start the submission process until you've logged in with a valid Xbox Live account.

You'll have to go through the options until you discover "I'd like to report a toxic player" on this general support page. Keep in mind that these complaints rely on evidence given by users, so you should gather screenshots or video footage of the incident before submitting it. A mere description of the event may not be sufficient to allow the developer to take action. You can fill out the user's gamer tag as well as an attachments section for your evidence on the submission form.
