Destiny 2: How To Fix Servers are not available and Servers At Capacity Errors
With the weekly reset in Destiny 2, a slew of Guardians rushes into the game, anxious to begin completing their weekly challenges and unlocking new content, particularly on days when a new season begins. Some gamers are experiencing difficulty getting into the game today. This is especially true today, as everyone is eager to get back into the game after the release of The Witch Queen expansion.
People trying to log in have encountered a variety of difficulties, with the two most common messages being "Destiny 2 servers are presently unavailable" and "Destiny 2 servers are currently at capacity." Other players have just been unable to log in to the game.
Bungie is aware of the problem and is working on a remedy, so don't worry. This can happen in almost any game from time to time. It looks to be hurting PS4, Xbox One, and PC gamers and is mostly due to people rushing into the servers at the start of the new season. It also appears to be an intermittent issue, so don't be too concerned if your buddies can connect but you can't.
Bungie normally doesn't take long to fix a problem like this, based on previous instances. It's most likely related to the weekly maintenance that takes place before the reset. All you can do now is wait it out and keep an eye on Bungie's Help Twitter account to see when it's fixed. It isn't much else you can do on your end because the problem isn't with your game or your connection.
All you can do now is sit back and wait for Bungie to either spin up more servers or simply wait for the flood of people to cease hammering their infrastructure.
