Elden Ring is a PlayStation, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Steam Deck title. If you're one of the many PC gamers who prefer to play with a controller, you're in luck because Elden Ring supports controllers. However, depending on the controller you're using, connecting it to your computer can be challenging. Here's how to connect an Xbox controller if you're using one.

How to connect an Xbox Controller for Elden Ring

To get started, you'll need to connect your Xbox controller to your computer. Plugging it into a USB 3.0 port is the simplest and most direct way to do so. More information can be found here. It's a little more difficult to connect it using Bluetooth. To add a Bluetooth or other device, go to your computer's Settings, select Devices, and then click "Add a Bluetooth or other device." You should now be able to select your Xbox controller.

Go to Steam's settings once the actual controller is linked to your PC. Choose between desktop and big picture configurations in the controller section. Double-check that the Xbox Configuration Support box is selected.

Another option is to visit Elden Ring's properties section. Select properties with a right-click on Elden Ring. Choose Enable Steam Input from the selection on the controller tab, and your controller should show. If this does not connect the controller, you may need to try a different USB port.
