Fortnite Chapter 3: How to get the Heavy Shotgun

With the return of the Heavy Shotgun in Chapter 3 Season 1, close combat battles have suddenly become a whole lot riskier. In the hands of expert shooters, the Heavy Shotgun is a monster. It does not discharge a burst of pellets like ordinary shotguns, instead of shooting a single slug towards your opponent.

As a result, it's more of an all-or-nothing weapon. The damage is intense if you land the slug, but if you miss, you cause no damage at all. The Heavy Shotgun can be collected from both Supply Drops and Sharks and can be found in Chest as floor loot.

The Common rarity deals 81 damage to the body and 142 damage to the head, with a 4.8 second reload time. Meanwhile, the Legendary will deal 99 damage to the body and 173 damage to the skull, making it practically a one-hit kill. The loading time has been reduced to 3.9 seconds.

As you can see, it can deal a lot of damage, so players should be cautious about allowing opponents to close the distance on them now that it's back in the game. This is an excellent alternative for anyone who is capable of taking quick and accurate headshots.
