Horizon Forbidden West: How to get the Clawstrider override from Cauldron IOTA

To override Clawstrider in Horizon Forbidden West, you must override Cauldron IOTA. Cauldron: IOTA is located north of the map, west of the Ninmah Research Lab from the Cradle of Echoes main quest. Two Apex Leaplashers protect it, although they can be easily dispatched with Purgewater traps and a spear. The main entrance of Cauldron: IOTA is locked and there is no way to access it, so travel northwest.

A huge crevasse cuts the south side of the search area. Into the tunnel at the north end, deal with the Tracker Burrowers (Acid Traps are your friend). Follow the tunnel into Cauldron: IOTA. The game will have already alerted you if you are below the required level and encouraged you to prepare. Before attempting this Cauldron, you should be level 17 with enough Shock, Purgewater, and Acid traps and ammo. If you're a badass like us, you can probably do it lower.

Then drop down from the platform to the northeast, turn left, and enter the Cauldron door. Turn left and destroy the Leaplashers, avoiding the lava. Clawstriders can be found in the lava. As many Shock traps as you can before it notices you. Landing Critical Strikes while its stunning speeds up the fight.

Override the Network Uplink on the west wall to reveal a ladder. At the top, jump right and pull yourself up onto the platform. Jump across to the first forge's yellow handholds, then climb left to one of its joints. When both forges are retracted, jump to the next forge. Push the left stick to the left until Aloy hops across to the next Forge. Then jump to the eastern platform.

Go through the tunnel and kill more machines. A vent opens and closes on the southeast wall. Rappel down from the open door, turn left, and override another. Then plant Acid Traps in front of the southwest wall's door. A Rollerback will likely enter through the southwest door, right into your Acid Traps. Keep attacking it with acid to weaken its armor and weak areas. The longer you keep your distance and dodge its blows, the more likely you are to kill it.

You can override the Cauldron Core to gain the Clawstrider, Leaplasher, Glinthawk, and Skydrifter overrides.
