Lost Ark: How to get and use the Song of Escape

Lost Ark has just been launched in the west, and it's shaking up a few clichés in the RPG genre. The unstated rule in RPGs and similar games is to loop the last section back to the beginning, allowing players to simply leave, or to have an exit portal spawn upon slaying the boss.

The method of exiting dungeons and instances in Lost Ark is a little more melodic. As they explore the world of Arkesia, players will acquire a variety of musical abilities that vary in power and utility.

The Song of Escape, on the other hand, is the first musical ability acquired. Players will eventually complete a part called Legends and Fairytales by progressing through the main quest, giving them the ability.

By clicking 'F2' or selecting Adventure in the bottom left and then the Sheet Music tab, players can see their earned sheet music. Drag the Song of Escape to the action bar; I like to keep it in slot nine.

Then, whenever you want to get out of a dungeon (ideally after killing the boss and grabbing the loot), simply press the appropriate key to be transported out of the gloomy depths by the power of music.
