Sifu: How to beat Sean the Fighter boss
Sifu's second level is packed with followers learning from Sean, the fiery pole fighter whose methods appear to be a little outlandish. After you've battled your way through The Club and into the back area, you'll have to face Sean. You'll get stomped quite fast if you're not prepared. Here's everything you need to know about it.
First and foremost, don't be intimidated by Sean's powerful weapon. In reality, if you get the chance, you can grab a polearm from the arena's walls on either side. As long as you avoid Sean's own pole assaults, this will deal damage and build up his structural meter swiftly.
There are two types of moves. The first is a three-strike series in which he spins the pole around like a chopper blade. Duck under all three and seize the opportunity to retaliate. Sean's other attack is a three-strike combination: vertical, horizontal, and vertical. To evade the hits, sidestep, duck, then sidestep again before launching your own attacks. Sean may use his shoulder to knock you back before performing either of these combos, so be ready to duck swiftly if it connects. If you are hit by his shoulder, the Pushback Cancel ability will stabilize you.
Once you've completed the initial takedown, you'll move on to phase two, which takes place in a burned-out version of the same room. Sean continues to use the same combos as previously, but this time he gains a new one. He'll start with a tripping strike before slamming into the ground with a powerful slam. Prepare to hop over this, and if you miss, roll out of the path swiftly before the follow-up strike connects.
Sean will begin to burn about halfway through the fight, and he will utilize this new attack considerably more frequently at that time. If you dodge both attacks, he may continue the combo with the earlier alternating horizontal and vertical chops, so make sure he's relaxed before going in for a counterattack. Sean may be intimidated by the fire around him, but he is far from invincible. You'll grasp that pole and give the fighter a taste of his own medicine if you can dodge, hop, and sidestep his assaults.
