Sifu: How to beat the final boss Yang the Leader
After beating the first four bosses in Sifu, you'll arrive at Yang's mountainside facility, The Sanctuary. He’s the final step in achieving your revenge, and he doesn’t make it easy. This guide will show you how to defeat the game's last boss.
First and foremost, prepare yourself for the purest fight in the game. You can't use focus attacks — Yang will even tell you it's not worth it — and you can't use any outside weapons in the fight. This is a true skill test, as practically all of the parries and counters are required. It's quite rare to land a clean hit without waiting for Yang to make a mistake first.
Kicks, single punches, and a sequence of swipes will be thrown at you, all of which can be dodged to the side or parried at the right moment. To catch Yang off guard, you must wait for him to move first, avoid or block his hit, and then fire back with your own attacks once he's finished. If you want to beat him with the structure meter, you'll have to be really aggressive about it, provoking him to attack with your own punch, parrying his oncoming attacks, and hitting him at every opportunity. He might also come at you with a sliding kick that you can't parry, so hop over it.
Keep the pressure on, and after the first takedown, you'll go on to phase two. The struggle proceeds outside, where Yang attacks even more quickly than before. The same rules apply - duck or parry his blows as much as possible, and counter as much as possible — but you'll have to be even more alert now. In phase two, the space is significantly narrower, so avoid having your back to the wall, since he can knock you into it and deal further damage.
You'll also have to deal with two new attacks. One is a clone of Fajar the Botanist's flying kick, which sends Yang leaping toward you. This strike has a distinct red glow to it, therefore be prepared to avoid it because it cannot be parried. His other new attack, a series of glowing swipes that can completely destroy your structure meter if you just hold down the block button, is the same. When Yang's arms illuminate and he rears up, you'll know this attack is coming, so prepare to evade the succession of swipes because that's your only option.
Yang is an aggressive fighter, and you must fight him similarly. Parry everything you can, avoid everything you can't, and always look for methods to land your own blows. If you stay focused, you'll come out on top and complete Sifu.
