On February 5, 2022, the heartbreaking news of the death of Twitch streamer Jo "Jammi95" was received. According to a family member, the Korean streamer was often bullied and harassed online. Jammi's uncle revealed the awful news on social media, detailing Jammi's battle with depression brought on by online bullying.

“Hello, this is Rose's uncle. I haven't been able to tell you since I haven't been in a hurry. Rose died by herself. It is regrettable to say sad words to many fans and to those who have supported us. During that time, Rose suffered from depression due to numerous malicious comments and rumors, and that was the cause.”

Jammi95 endured years of bullying and online harassment

Jammi was a popular Korean broadcaster who had over 168k Twitch followers and was well-liked in Twitch's Let's Chat meta. Her gaming, singing/dancing, eating/drinking, and cosplaying content helped her attain fame.

However, the streamer has been dogged by controversy since her debut in March 2019. An incident occurred during her early streaming days on the Korean streaming network AfreecaTV, in which her fellow streamers GAMST, OzilHye, and Namsoon made disrespectful comments against her during their stream. The stream was deemed troublesome by AfreecaTV, who prohibited all three streamers from going live for three days.

Jammi, on the other hand, faced blowback from their disappointed communities. In addition, she claimed feminist tendencies were scorned by South Korean culture. As a result, she became a target for anti-feminist radicals, who were the primary perpetrators of harassment and bullying.

Jammi's uncle addressed incorrect claims about the streamer's association with "rappers" and drugs in his response. He issued a threat of legal action against anyone who spreads such rumors:

"However, it is completely groundless with the rappers and drugs that are floating around now. This is a fact that I, the family of the rose, and the people around me know. We will take legal action against anyone who spreads related rumors."
