Dying Light 2: How to defeat Hermann
After completing the major plot missions, Dying Light 2 Stay Human will present you with the most difficult foe you've ever faced. This enemy is Hermann, Sophie's bodyguard in Dying Light 2's Bazaar. After choosing between Aitor and the Peacekeepers or Sophie and Barney of the Bazaar, you will fight Hermann. Regardless of which side you choose, Hermann will become enraged at some point and challenge you to a fight.
Hermann is a beast of a guy, with a massive frame, a two-handed sledgehammer, and near-complete deafness that, sadly, won't stop him from fighting. The fight itself takes place in a small square chamber with limited movement options. This is good news for Hermann, as he has some long-range attacks in Dying Light 2.
Defeating Hermann in Dying Light 2
Hermann wields a massive sledgehammer as his primary weapon, as previously stated. This attack is easily dodged, but what happens afterward can catch players off guard. If you approach Hermann too closely after he has swung his weapon to the ground, he will poke you with the weapon's butt, knocking you backward.
To avoid the jab, you must wait for a second or two until he swings his weapon. After that, you can go after the giant man. If you stay too long, he will push you back and attempt to assault you again.
The most effective approach to avoid Hermann is to keep dodging back and forth. This will cause Hermann to turn his back on you, allowing you to deliver the most damage. However, you must avoid approaching them too closely. Hermann's strikes appear to be able to hit you from further away than they appear on-screen. After you've been hit by a few attacks, start dodging to avoid them.
To defeat Hermann, dodge, allow him to swing, attack once or twice, and then dodge back away. Because you won't be able to deal damage in waves, you'll have to use this strategy to slowly deplete Hermann's health. To do the most effective damage, you can power attack once or fast attack twice.
You'll be able to take down Hermann and advance the story in Dying Light 2 if you stay away from him as much as possible and deal little amounts of damage on a continual basis.
