Dying Light 2: How to save your game
In Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you cannot save your game manually. You can't undo any of the crucial decisions you make because the game uses an autosave system with only one save slot per session. It's also a good idea to understand how the autosave mechanism works so you don't lose your progress.
In Dying Light 2, your game will autosave at two different points. The first is whenever you decide to give up. When you exit the game, it saves your progress, so when you reload it, your inventory, weapon condition, time of day, XP, and so on will all be the same, though your health, immunity, and stamina will always be refreshed.
Your current location will not be remembered. You'll instead respawn in the closest Safe Zone or Landmark. You may also respawn at the most recent checkpoint in some quests. You won't normally lose much progress because checkpoints are so often.
It's also important to understand your alternatives when you die. At dusk, you can either call for assistance, respawn, or resurrect. All three options will resurrect you at the nearest Safe Zone or Landmark, although reviving at dusk will advance time until 19:00, just as night falls. The game's environment changes greatly from day tonight. Some tasks are easier at night, while others are far more difficult.
Respawning and calling for assistance will immediately respawn you at the nearest Safe Zone or Landmark (in in-game time). Calling for aid differs in that it allows you to play with other people in co-op mode, which you can do at any time, not only when you die. The resurrect at dusk option is not available on some quests.
