Elden Ring: Giant Bird Rune Farm Location and How to Farm

Finding the big bird at Mohgwyn Palace's Rune farm could make it much easier to improve your character in Elden Ring. As you go through Elden Ring, leveling up your character becomes increasingly difficult, as each new level takes more Runes than the previous one. It won't be long until you learn that each level demands tens of thousands of Runes and that eliminating low-level enemies won't help much.

So, you can either go fight challenging adversaries and bosses, or you can simply go for a Rune farm! There are several Rune farms in Elden Ring that reward you with a significant amount of Runes, but the one at Mohgwyn Palace is by far the largest!

Location of the Elden Ring Giant Bird Rune Farm

This Rune farm is located in Mohgwyn Palace, as previously stated, and there are two routes to reach there. You may easily go to the Mohgwyn Palace via a portal if you've progressed far enough in the game and have already unlocked the Mountaintops of the Giants.

All you have to do is go to the designated place on the map below, which will lead you to a gateway. After passing through the portal, you'll come across a boss in a passage. Ignore it and keep going till you get to Mohgwyn Palace.

There is still a way to go to the palace if you haven't yet reached Mountaintops of the Giants, albeit you must first battle Godrick, the Grafted. At Stormveil Castle, he is the second campaign boss.

After you've defeated him, you can begin the White-Faced Varre questline. He's the same NPC you spoke with when you first arrived in Limgrave at the start of the game. Yes, the one who referred to you as "Maidenless!"

He'll be at the Rose Church in Liurnia the Lakes after defeating Godrick; we've already covered this area in a separate guide, which you can find here. You will receive three Bloody Fingers after speaking with him. Invade the worlds of other players three times with all of them. It makes no difference whether you kill or die your opponents.

Return to Varre and speak with him once more. He will give you a cloth and instruct you to soak it in the blood of a girl. You should go to Four Belfiries in Liurnia of the Lakes for this. In this location, there are a number of shrines. Head to the top of the village to the last Shrine. Pick up the Imbued Sword Key from the chest in front of it.

Return to the shrine just before the one you're at right now. The portal will be activated when you use the Imbued key on the Imbued statue. Pass through the Portal. This will return you back to the beginning of the game. If you come into a boss, kill it and then make your way up into the chapel. On the left side of the church, immediately upon entering, there is a corpse. Take the cloth back to Varre at Rose Church and soak it in the blood. Varre will grant you the Pureblood Knight's Medal if you talk to him a few times. After that, use the medal to spawn at Mohgwyn Palace.

How to Farm Runes

Now that you've arrived at Mohgwyn Palace, proceed to the Site of Grace, which is perched on a cliff overlooking the bloodied lake. After you've rested, take a position at the cliff's edge and prepare your bow. In the bloodied lake, you should be able to see a massive bird. If you shoot it with an arrow, the angry bird will fall to the ground and die. You will receive 11,000 Runes as a result of this. This number increases to 13,200 Runes if you equip the Rune-boosting scarab. Rest in the Grace Site once more and repeat the action. You can earn up to 13,200 Runes per 20 seconds this way.
