Elden Ring: How to access the Divine Tower of West Altus and Where to activate Rykard’s Great Rune

You'll get a Great Rune every time you defeat a shard bearer in Elden Ring, which is a remarkable piece of equipment that boosts your stats. Before you can utilize a Great Rune, it must be activated at a specific Divine Tower. After defeating Rykard, you must activate his Great Rune at the Divine Tower of West Altus, which is the game's most difficult Divine Tower to locate. You must travel through the Sealed Tunnel, a dungeon on the outskirts of Leyndell in the Altus Plateau, to reach this tower. On the map below, we've marked the position of the dungeon entrance.

You'll find a lone Site of Grace in an apparently enclosed room inside the dungeon. However, not all is as it seems; in this area, there is an illusory wall that must be broken to gain entry to the rest of the dungeon. A lit brazier is to the left of the wall. You should find a treasure chest containing Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing [2] in the next room. Another phantom wall is behind this chest. When you hit it, you'll see a walkway leading to an elevator.

If you take the elevator down, you'll notice another corridor that appears to lead to a dead end. You have another illusory wall to find, as you might have guessed. Thankfully, this one isn't too difficult. To disclose a path forward, simply hit the wall at the end of the path. You'll have to keep an eye on your footing in the following room since you'll be walking on top of multiple small branches. Make your way to the suspended platform on the other side of the room, where a Vulgar Militiaman will be stationed.

You'll see a stairway descending down in the next chamber, but it'll be blocked by some branches. If you look to your right, you'll see a hole in the floor that you can descend through. You'll land directly on top of several exploding foes, so roll away as soon as possible to avoid getting hurt. Another secret wall can be found in the southeast corner of the room. This one is hidden behind an adversary that is exploding. It must be pressed in order to expose another room.

As you work your way to the bottom, you'll need to drop down on top of numerous platforms. After you've completed this section, look ahead to find a passage leading to the Onyx Lord's arena. Fortunately, the Onyx Lord is relatively easy to defeat. Heavy blows can cause his animations to be disrupted, and he's especially vulnerable to being staggered, allowing you to land some critical hits. After you've defeated the Onyx Lord, enter the Divine Tower through the entrance behind him. Simply take the elevator to the top of the tower, walk up the steps, and activate Rykard's Great Rune.
