Elden Ring: How to get the Magma Whip Candlestick

If you've played Soulsbourne before, you're probably aware that whips in these games are notoriously hit-or-miss. A strong whip player can knock down some really difficult bosses or score kills in PVP, but getting those hits in takes a lot of game knowledge and timing practice. If you want to try whips, the Magma Whip Candlestick, a whip with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith scaling, is a great place to start. In Elden Ring, here's how to get the Magma Whip Candlestick.

To begin, you must have Patches spared in the Murkwater Cave in Limgrave. We cannot guarantee that this strategy will work for you if you did not do so. Second, you'll need to go northwest of the Altus Plateau to Mt. Gelmir. Navigate your way to the Volcano Manor, as depicted below — be careful, since the battlefield is littered with bosses, mini-bosses, and tough regular adversaries like Cuckoo Soldiers.

You must join the faction in the Volcano Manor and complete two requests there. The first will have you hunting a target near the Warmaster's Shack, which is located east of Stormveil Keep (a red icon will be placed on your map to indicate the invasion spot.) Go there, infiltrate the target's world, and eliminate him. He isn't particularly tough, but be wary of his extended attack windup.

Return to Volcano Manor to complete the assignment. Patches will make a second request, asking you to track out Targoth, an NPC who may have assisted you in defeating the Magma Wyrm. He may be found directly adjacent to the Magma Wyrm Grace Site. It's just as simple as the previous target; just be aware of how much damage his hammer will cause.

Return to Patches to complete the mission. He'll tell you that he'll let the others know about your success and that you should get some rest. This is your cue to visit a Grace Site. Patches will reward you with the Magma Whip Candlestick if you return to him.
