Elden Ring: What to do with the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess

Malenia is one of Elden Ring's most difficult bosses, and she may be one of the most difficult bosses in all of FromSoftware's Souls games. However, if you defeat this super boss, you'll be rewarded with the Remembrance of the Rot Goddess, which you may trade to Finger Reader Enia for high-tier gear.

The Hand of Malenia, which is a copy of Malenia's long blade used in battle, is one of these things. It's a strong katana that scales well with Dexterity but not so well with Strength. To wield the blade, you'll need a high level of Dexterity — 48 to be exact — as well as 16 Strength.

Waterfowl Dance is its one-of-a-kind ability, which you may recall from Malenia's near-impossible-to-avoid AOE slash strike. It's a devastatingly powerful attack that's difficult to avoid, making it an excellent PvE and PvP technique. As if that weren't enough, the weapon also produces a buildup of blood loss.

The Scarlet Aeonia incantation, which requires 35 Faith to use, can also be obtained through the Remembrance. This is essentially a replica of Malenia's AOE strike from her second phase, in which she forms a flower that explodes, causing Scarlet Rot to spread over the area. Because Scarlet Rot is one of the game's more lethal state effects, this invocation is especially effective for taking out groups of opponents or other human players during PvP.
