Elden Ring: Where to find Formic Rock and what it does

Elden Ring players, like every other Soulsborne game, are scrambling to figure out where to obtain crafting resources, what to make with them, and what to do with the finished product. Elden Ring is content to throw a handful of crafting materials at players, not tell them what they're for, and let them sit in their inventory until they either beat the game or find up what to do with them online, as is customary in the series.

Formic Rock is one such perplexing crafting material. Formic Rock is a solidified venom discovered off the bodies of roaming Giant Ants. It may be found around the Ainsel River and other sites where Giant Ants may be found, as well as Mohgwyn's Palace, Deeproot Depths, and of a corpse in the Mountaintop of the Giants.

What the Formic Rock does

That's how you find the Formic Rock, but what can you do with it? Because it's one of the elements necessary to make Acid Spray Mist, whether the player is a spell sling wizard or a Guts-want-to-be huge sword guy, Formic Rock may be a key crafting resource.

Acid Spraymist is Elden Ring's Listerine-like consumable, made up of one Atlus Bloom, Miranda Powder, and four Formic Rocks, that the player chugs, swishes, and then sprays from their lips over adversaries to damage weapons and temporarily lower attack power.

The Perfumer's Cookbook, which can be purchased for 3,000 runes from the Nomadic Merchant near the Ainsel River, is an apparent addition to any glass cannon-style setup.
