Different forms of status effects are caused by Elden Ring's weaponry. Many cause bleeding, while others may poison opponents or cause frostbite. Few weapons, on the other hand, produce sleep, a state effect that, as you might expect, puts foes to sleep and renders them helpless. One of the few weapons that do is the Sword of Saint Trina, which you can find early after starting the game.

The Sword of Saint Trina can be found in the Forsaken Ruins, a region in western Caelid. The ruins are located southeast of the Smoldering Church and south of Caelid's westernmost Minor Erdtree. The ruins are guarded by some enormous birds, but you don't have to defeat them in order to obtain the weapon.

You should find an Imp statue by a staircase leading to an underground bunker in the ruins. To enter the bunker, you'll need a Stonesword Key. Once you have one, interact with the statue to disperse the fog that has been blocking the bunker door. You'll find a treasure chest if you go through the door at the bottom of the stairwell. To claim your sword, open it up.

Because of its low skill requirements, this sword is an excellent early game weapon. It can be wielded with only 10 Strengths, 12 Dexterity, and 14 Intelligence, and it scales with each of those attributes. The weapon's sleep-inducing passive ability is what really sets it apart.

When you hit an enemy with the Sword of Saint Trina, slumber builds up, allowing you to get a critical hit in as if you staggered them. This method also works on larger adversaries and bosses.
