Getting your own private session in GTA Online can make grinding a lot easier, but there aren't any official ways to do so while still being able to work on your enterprises. That hasn't deterred the GTA Online community, since there are workarounds that will place you in a lone room that is still public, allowing you to grind in peace on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

With GTA Online launching on next-gen consoles and being free for a limited period on PS5, there appears to be an influx of new griefers, so booking a single private session is a good idea. On the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, here's how to get a solitary public lobby in GTA Online's next-gen version.

How to Get a Solo Public GTA Online Lobby on PS5

On the PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto Online, the tried and true MTU approach still works. To get a solo public session, simply complete the instructions below:
  • Go to your PS5 dashboard.
  • Select the Settings option from the drop-down menu.
  • Go to Network>Settings>Internet Connection Setup.
  • Press the Options button after selecting your current Internet Connection.
  • Select Advanced Settings.
  • MTU Settings should be set to Manual and enter 800.
  • Start GTA Online after saving your settings.
This approach still works, but it takes a long time to load compared to PS4. If you wait long enough, you'll ultimately locate your own lobby. If you receive an error, try again. It's as simple as that.

As is customary, other players will eventually join your session, so you will only have complete privacy for a limited period of time. Players will gradually fill in, and your new friends will most likely wish to concentrate on their companies in quiet, just like you. If the lobby becomes too busy or rowdy, simply exit the game and restart the process to start afresh solitary public session.

Unfortunately, it appears that the existing techniques for obtaining a solo public lobby on Xbox have been patched. Some players have been able to use the MTU approach by changing their MTU in their router's settings, however, this does not work for everyone.

Others have attempted the ethernet cable technique, which includes turning on Wi-Fi on your Xbox and then putting in an ethernet cable when loading into a session, but it doesn't work for everyone. It's still the most reliable approach at the present, so give it a shot and see how it goes.

In GTA Online on Xbox Series X|S, there's currently no sure way to get a solo public lobby. Once a confirmed technique is uncovered, this post will be updated.
