Genshin Impact 2.6: Zephyr of the Violet Garden Release Date Revealed

The next update for the popular free-to-play video game Genshin Impact will be released on March 30th, according to developer miHoYo. Like other version updates, Genshin Impact Version 2.6, "Zephyr of the Violet Garden," will introduce a slew of new features, but probably most notably, it will include the long-awaited playable character Kamisato Ayato, a five-star Hydro-attuned swordsman, as part of its character banners after launch.

In addition to the new character, the Version 2.6 update for Genshin Impact will include a brand-new location to the realm of Teyvat called The Chasm. The Chasm will be located in Liyue's westernmost region and will comprise both aboveground and subsurface regions. The new section, according to the developer, has to do with tale content for both the Traveler Twins and Khaenri'ah.

According to the story, the area had been closed owing to a series of inexplicable accidents, and it is now overrun with monsters and Fatui. At its end, The Chasm introduces a new enemy, the Ruin Serpent, as well as the new Archon Quest "Requiem of the Echoing Depths" with Dainsleif.

Inazuma will also host the Irodori Festival, a character-specific event with a variety of incentives, similar to other in-game festivals. Players who complete all of the challenges as part of the Irodori Festival will be given the opportunity to free recruit the four-star character Xingqiu. During the event, the Theater Mechanicus will make another appearance.

Genshin Impact Version 2.6, "Zephyr of the Violet Garden," will be released on March 30th, as previously stated. Kamisato Ayato, the five-star Hydro-attuned swordsman, a new Chasm location with both aboveground and underground space, and more are all included in the new version. The new playable five-star character Yae Miko, as well as a new exploration event in Enkanomiya, are all included in Genshin Impact Version 2.5, "When the Sakura Bloom."

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices and is completely free to play. The video game will also be released for the Nintendo Switch in the future, though no specific date has been determined as of yet.
