Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Every amiibo that works and what they do
Amiibo figures prominently in a number of recent Nintendo Switch games. While the toys are still included with most of the company's first-party games, they have been significantly reduced, leaving you wondering what figurines will even accomplish anything in the games you own. The following is a list of which amiibo may be used in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
According to what we've observed, all of the amiibo we've tried to do something in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, but none of them significantly alter the game. Naturally, Kirby, Meta Knight, and King Dedede amiibo (both Smash and Kirby variations), as well as Waddle Dee, work in the game. What they do is as follows:
- Kirby – Drops coins and an extra life
- Meta Knight – Coins and speed boost
- King Dedede – Coins and attack boost
- Waddle Dee – Coins and health potion
- Qbby (from Box Boy) – Coins and health item
- Other than that (we tested Smash Fox and Mario series Princess Peach) — Coins and a health-related item
These item drops are available once each level per amiibo, with a maximum of five amiibo per level. After you reach level five, you must complete a level before scanning again. This is handled similarly to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, where amiibo will drop a number of stuff for you to grab at random, but it is simplified even further in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
