Kirby and the Forgotten Land: How to beat Clawroline
Clawroline, a lithe beast who enjoys the limelight, is the area boss of the Wondaria Remains. This boss is capable of vanishing feats, high-wire leaps, and a fondness for sharp items — but she's in the way of rescuing the Waddle Dees, so she must leave. In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, here's how to beat Clawroline. First and foremost, Clawroline's side objectives are as follows:
- Make sure the stage is clear.
- Ranger can be used to hit Clawroline from afar.
- Defeating without having to hover
- Within 1:30, the area will be clear.
- Clear the area without being damaged.
It's worth noting that clearing Clawroline in under 1:30 with Ranger is extremely difficult, so you may need to repeat this quest. Clawroline will take two swipes at you in the first phase before charging up a slashing strike. Because her recovery from the charged slash is so slow, this is an excellent opportunity to inflict some damage. Clawroline will dim the lights on the stage from time to time and charge up even more for a rush strike. Running to one side will let you evade, and the long recovery animation of this move makes it an ideal moment to deliver damage. She'll alternate these assaults until she's down to roughly 40% HP, at which point Phase 2 begins.
Clawroline will leap up high into the rafters in Phase 2 and pelt you with knives. She'll launch one wave of knives before hopping around and launching three more waves. She'll slam into Kirby after the third wave – this strike can't be avoided. To dodge the slashes, you'll have to time your jump (or just mash hover away from Clawroline.) Her claws will become lodged in the ground, allowing you to dish out damage for several seconds. Clawroline's ultimate trick is to vanish for a brief while before reappearing close to Kirby and slashing — she'll do this plus her up-high act until she's defeated.
