Kirby and the Forgotten Land: How to beat Fecto Elfilis, the final boss
Kirby and the Forgotten Land will present you with numerous boss battles and obstacles to overcome. After saving King Dedede and fighting King Leongar, you'll discover that Elfilin, your quest companion, is actually a member of Fecto Elfilis, the game's true nemesis. This entity has been mind-controlling your foes in order to restore them to their former powerful selves and can create rifts in space. Here's how to defeat Ultimate Life-Form Fecto Elfilis, the main story's last boss.
Before climbing the building to face Fecto Elfilis, make sure to heal yourself with the Maxim Tomato and grab whatever copy ability you like. In our situation, we choose fire because of the long-term damage, but the boss can neutralize that long-term damage in a variety of ways. Simply use whatever you choose. Because there are portions of this encounter that are similar to other boss fights, some of the same tactics can be used.
When the conflict begins, Fecto Elfilis will fly away from you, making it impossible for you to attack them. They'll start firing energy blades at you, so dodge to the left and right. They'll charge the ground where you're standing after a few bursts, so keep moving and strike them a number of times while they're stuck. When they draw their weapon, they may charge at you quickly, which you can avoid by fleeing to the side, jumping, or evading. After a couple of these, expect a sideswipe that you'll have to hop over.
They're charging a close-range variant of the energy blade attack if they're on the ground with their spear held straight up. To dodge these, simply move sideways again while striking them in between spurts. They'll raise their spear up again after the first time, but this time they'll make a rift in the ground and crush it into it to send shockwaves out. While the rings are motionless, jump over them and hit them.
Be prepared to run sideways from an impending beam if Fecto flies away and begins charging up an attack. If you're hit, you'll be stuck inside and take a lot of damage, so try to avoid it as much as possible. They may also charge at you three times while in the air, with their spear glowing red, so either avoid or slide to the side before they come in. You will be injured if you contact the ground where they traveled through. Run up and smack them a couple of times after the third charge, but be prepared for another sideswipe attack.
Fecto Elfilis will change the sky into a wavey purple once they've been reduced to a third of their original health. They'll summon meteors to rain down where you're standing if you spot them to open up a star-shaped fissure. Dodge back and forth, attempting to position yourself on the arena's outskirts for the final, massive battle. Get as far away as you can when you see that coming in, or you'll be trapped in another attack that deals a lot of damage over time.
Start attacking them right away if you see them split into three duplicates and curl up. Slowly, a ring will appear, and if it reaches them, they will heal. They will take additional damage if you deal enough damage to erase the blue line from their health metre. There's only one genuine one here, so if you can do damage to them without them disappearing, do so before the ring closes in on you.
They will tumble on the ground once their health is nearly depleted, and you will be prompted to utilize mouthful mode on their back to free Elfilin. The ultimate blow will be dealt after a cutscene with some button presses. If you finish it, you'll be done with Kirby and the Forgotten Land's main story.
