Kirby and the Forgotten Land: How to perfect dodge
You'll have to combat a variety of opponents in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, from low-level thugs to the most powerful bosses. Kirby may not have a wide range of combat options, but he does have one maneuver — a dodge — that can be extremely useful when it comes to avoiding damage. You can perform a flawless dodge if you time it exactly so, allowing you to not only sidestep an approaching assault but also land a slew of free hits.
To dodge, hold down any of the Switch's shoulder buttons — L, R, ZL, or ZR — and then move the left analog stick in the desired direction. Kirby will do a handstand bounce, which will allow him to phase past any assaults that come his way. Kirby will perform a perfect dodge if you do this immediately before an attack hits. Time will slow around Kirby, but the pink puffball will continue to move at normal speed, allowing you to launch a devastating counterattack. You can quickly clear most boss fights in a few minutes or less if you consistently use excellent dodges.
