Kirby and the Forgotten Land: What happens when you save every Waddle Dee?
Kirby's commitment to making the transition to a 3D game took a long time, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a fantastic first step. Much of your time in this game will be spent searching for Waddle Dees to release them from the Beast Pack's enslavement. What happens if you devote all of your time to this task and save every Waddle Dee in Kirby and the Forgotten Land?
In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, there are 300 Waddle Dees to save. Once everyone has been rescued, you will return to Waddle Dee Town to a standing ovation. There will also be two golden sculptures of Kirby and Elfilin in the centre of town, near the Warp Star. A notice will also appear on-screen informing you that all Waddle Dees have returned home. You can then stroll past and see the statues whenever you like.
Regrettably, it is the extent of what takes place. Essentially, this is the game's way of saying "thank you for playing" without actually saying it. If you're a completionist, this is yet another example of the trip serving as the reward rather than the result being game-changing.
