As far as efficiently improving a character is concerned, participating in Lost Ark's daily Naruni races is highly recommended. These races are a quick and easy way to substantially sharpen and engrave gear into the late game, as they are one of the only sources of Arkesia Event Coins outside of the extremely difficult Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids.

Players will want to learn how to race quicker as a Narumi once they know they get Event Coins in proportion to their finish.

Racing and Naruni-chasing

The Naruni races include 14 players morphing into the namesake reptile monsters and racing in teams of seven against each other.

Naruni races work similarly to the main game's dungeon-centric mouse-based movement, but with a Mario Kart twist. Improving at Naruni racing entails mastering Naruni's four abilities, each of which looks and functions like a Mario Kart item.
  • Headbutt: Charges forward, staggered opponents slightly ahead of the user, and enhancing movement; akin to a mushroom in mobility.
  • Super Naruni!: Fires a projectile in front of the player that travels in a straight line and explodes when it hits an opponent, knocking them down; offensively, it's akin to a green shell.
  • Plop Bomb: Deploys an explosive "bomb" behind the user that explodes in AoE after a few seconds of delay; similar in function to a reverse banana peel and a bob-omb.
  • Tough Naruni: Creates a brief shield that can counteract incoming knockdown from opponent abilities or stage hazards, akin to a power star or triple shell in terms of defensive qualities.

Stage hazards: Defensive Naruni-ing

During racing, players are likely to come across obstacles that might stun them, halting their progress and allowing opponents to pass. Before attacking, static items such as swinging mallets and circular explosions display a red AoE that demonstrates their attack patterns. Players profit from strafing out of the direction of these strikes, or stopping to let the threat pass entirely if it is too late to evade.

On rare times, living adversaries will wander onto the track, capable of moving and attacking without the use of the telegraph. They have health bars and can be killed with Headbutt and Super Naruni, but they rarely represent a threat to players and may simply be strafed around.
