Pokemon GO: How to Catch Tapu Lele and Can It Be Shiny?

The Lush Jungle event in Pokemon GO contains a number of unexpected surprises, one of which is the arrival of Tapu Lele. Trainers have been able to obtain one of the Alola island guardian god Pokemon named Tapu Koko from the start of the new Season of Alola. Tapu Lele, the second guardian deity, is now introduced. Here's how to get Tapu Lele in Pokemon GO, as well as whether or not it can be shiny.

How to Catch Tapu Lele in Pokemon GO

As previously stated, the next Alola-themed event is Lush Jungle, which added a few new Pokemon to Pokemon GO, one of which being Tapu Lele. With Lush Jungle, there are some other intriguing features, such as new shiny Pokemon, but with a new event comes new Raids. Tapu Lele will be available to capture in Pokemon GO from Tuesday, March 22 at 10:00 a.m. local time until Tuesday, March 29 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Right now, the 5-Star Raid is the only way to get Tapu Lele in Pokemon GO. 5-Star Raids, as you may or may not know, may be difficult. You'll need the greatest Pokemon for the job to take down Tapu Lele and catch it for yourself. Keep in mind that Tapu Lele is vulnerable to Poison-, Ghost-, and Steel-type Pokemon when preparing your squad for the battle. You should also try to catch a Mega Charizard Y when it is in the Mega Raid.

Can Tapu Lele Be Shiny?

Tapu Lele can't be shiny in Pokemon GO yet, regrettably. This is rather typical with first-generation Pokemon in Pokemon GO, so don't feel too cheated. When Tapu Koko first appeared in Pokemon GO at the start of Season of Alola, the same thing happened. But all is not lost because Tapu Lele has a shiny version, which indicates that Tapu Lele may one day be available in its shining version.

Other Pokemon in Pokemon GO is getting shiny variants for the first time, thanks to Lush Jungle. There will also be a whole new group of Pokemon to find in the wild, via Field Research, and Timed Research, with the majority of them being shiny.
