Sea of Thieves: How to throw people in the brig
Multiplayer is a big part of Sea of Thieves. While a sloop designed for one to two players can travel the seas and perform tasks, it isn't ideal. Whether it's a dedicated squad of friends or a group of strangers, you'll most likely want a crew to join in on your maritime antics.
If you're playing with strangers online, there's a chance that someone will ruin your fun. Tossing a stranger in the brig is a wonderful way to have a little fun with someone who isn't playing kind.
How to toss people in the brig
You'll need to select the view button on an Xbox controller or the escape key on a keyboard and mouse to get to the My Crew menu. Remember that this option only works with a three- or four-player crew. Smaller two-player sessions won't function since Sea of Thieves tells you that there aren't enough crewmates to vote to lock someone in the brig.
To vote, hover over the player's name and pick the toggle at the right of the screen if your crew has the required number of members. This vote has the ability to be canceled at any time. Once the appropriate number of votes has been obtained, that person will be imprisoned in your ship's holding cell until you vote to let them out again.
With any hope, the person in issue will simply go because they are bored. You'll almost certainly come into other crews when playing Sea of Thieves online. Remember that you can only lock someone in the brig if they are members of your crew.
