Sea of Thieves: Where to find and use Fortress Treasury and Store Room Keys

In Sea of Thieves, you'll be taking Sea Forts for some quick PvE fun, but you'll also be able to get a lot of riches in return. The Treasury and Store Room, both of which require a key, are the two most valuable sources of plunder on any of these Sea Forts. After beating a fort, one key will be a given, while the other will be like finding a needle in a haystack.

How to get the Fortress Treasury Key

You'll have to fight many waves of Phantoms to defeat a Sea Fort, ending in a battle with the Captain of the Fortress. Although the severity of this pseudo-boss fight will scale depending on the size of your crew, it shouldn't be too challenging. The standard victory fanfare will play once you defeat the Captain, and a key will appear after the Captain fades.

Take the key and enter the Sea Fort on the first floor. There are stairs leading down to an elevator and gate; ahead of that is a detention cell, and to the left of that is the Treasury; use your freshly acquired key to open the door and claim your Damned riches. You can open the gate to let the rowboat in and utilize the elevator to transport loot if you have a rowboat.

How to get the Store Room Key

Finding the Store Room Key will be more difficult, if not plain frustrating. The Treasury Key is a fixed item that will drop when you defeat a Captain, however, the Store Room Key is a random item. You'll note that there are numerous cabinets and boxes that you can open and interact with; some will contain treasure, while others will be completely empty.

The Store Room Key will spawn in any of these cabinets or boxes once you clear a Sea Fort, so search every floor. Because some of these locations may appear to be scenery or props, approach them all. A gleam may be visible through a cabinet door or a box lid.

The Store Room Key was generated in separate locations in two different play sessions in Old Brimstone Fortress. After locating the key, you can ascend to the Sea Fort's rooftop using stairs or a ladder. The Store Room is located next to some additional steps that lead up to the bell; open it to uncover more Damned Loot and a Firework Crate.
