After making your way through the Carla Manor in Liurnia, head up to Ranni's Rise in the Three Sisters area to begin the quest.

How to complete Ranni’s quest

1st step

You should speak with Seluvis and Blaidd after accepting Ranni's mission. Seluvis may be found in his tower, which is not far south of the Three Sisters. When you chat with him, you'll learn that he wants you to offer a potion to Nepheli, another Roundtable Hold companion.

Go to Blaidd, who will be waiting for you in Siofra River Well, which is located on the east side of the Mistwoods in Limgrave, after getting the potion. Once within the well, ascend to the upper levels, then take the elevator on the far side of the room to the Siofra River Bank. Blaidd can be found not far distant.

He proposes speaking with Seluvis after chatting with Blaidd to learn more. You'll need to go here to finish Seluvis' quest. Return to Roundtable Hold and seek out Nepheli on the left side, attempting to give her the potion. She'll refuse, and you'll later locate her at Village of the Albinaurics, where you can team up with her to defeat the Omenkiller. She'll return to Roundtable Hold after defeating it.

Speak with Gideon Ofnir at Roundtable Hold and tell him about the potion. Give it to Nepheli or let him pour it down the drain, he'll say. You'll be able to report back to Seluvis regardless of your decision, and you'll be given the Letter of Recommendation to give to Sellen. You may find her beneath the Waypoint Ruins, where you can offer it to her. She'll tell you that the only way to discover Nokron is to beat Starscouraged Radahn in Redmane Castle.

After defeating Radahn, proceed to the location where the star fell. It may be found in Limgrave, on the southwest side of Mistwoods. If you go deep enough into the hole, you'll find Nokron, the Eternal City. Your aim will be to make your way through the entire city until you reach the Fingerslayer Blade at the very end. Return to Ranni's Rise with it and offer it to her.

2nd Step

After presenting the sword to Ranni, you'll need to recuperate at a place of grace before heading north to Renna's Rise. You'll locate a Waygate at the summit that will transport you to Ainsel River Main. In addition, a casket containing a Ranni doll will be there. Take it to the Aisnel River's location of grace and converse with it. Following the Ainsel River Main into Nokstella, Eternal City, it will assign you to find a Baleful Shadow.

In Nokstella, take the elevator to the Lake of Rot and make your way there. Before you get to the lake, you'll run into the Baleful Shadow, who looks much like Blaidd. If you defeat it, the doll will compliment you on your bravery and award you the Discarded Palace Key.

3rd step

You must proceed to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library, which is located at the top of the Academy of Raya Lucaria, with the Discarded Palace Key. Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, will be your opponent. In the Grand Library, you'll find a chest containing the Dark Moon Ring. Return to the Lake of Rot and proceed to the Grand Cloister, which is located to the south of it.

There's a coffin you can interact with near the Grand Cloister's waterfall. After a cutscene, you'll be directed to a specific place. You'll have to fight and defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void, there. You can use the elevator in that room to get to the Deep Ainsel Well once you've defeated it. Continue northeast to the Cathedral of Manus Celes, which is guarded by the Glintstone Dragon Adula. To get into the building, you don't have to fight the dragon.

After you've entered the building, take a break at the location of grace, which is located to the right of a massive pit. Ranni can be found at the bottom of the hole if you go inside. When you interact with her to give her the ring, you'll fulfill her mission and receive the Dark Moon Greatsword.
