Pokemon Go: Can you catch a shiny Paras?
As you play Pokémon Go, you'll come across a variety of different Pokémon. Each one you catch has its own set of stats that make them better in specific scenarios or merely Pokémon to gather for candy. Paras will emerge throughout the March 29 Spotlight Hour event for those who participate. Is it possible to catch a gleaming Paras in Pokémon Go?
We can confirm that Paras, a Pokémon from the Kanto region, has a shiny version in Pokémon Go. Following the launch of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event in 2021, the Pokémon from the Kanto area now have a shiny variation. It allowed players to encounter all 151 Pokémon from that generation, as well as all of Niantic's shiny versions, including Paras'.
Because you can catch shiny paras, there's always a chance you'll run into one in the wild, during raids, or when doing certain Field Research chores. During the Spotlight Hour event, however, there is no increased chance of catching a shining paras. You have more chances to catch paras because more paras occur during the event, but your shiny odds do not improve. Throughout the event, the chances of seeing shining paras are the same as they would be in the wild.
