Weird West: How to bounty hunt

Bounty hunting is one of the many wild hobbies available in the Weird West. While the game's first excursion is centered on a hero known as the Bounty Hunter, this action can be undertaken by any of the five heroes. This will put money in your pocket and allow you to have more fun in the future.

The first step is to accept the reward. A crosshair represents a bounty board, and every town in the game includes icons that inform you of what's available there. When this becomes orange, it indicates that there are new bounties to be collected. Go into town and look at the bulletin board to see what's going on. You can track down up to three criminals, and you can accept as many as you want.

Bounties have time constraints, so keep track of how far you'll have to go for each one. When you accept the bounty, the criminal's location will be marked on your map. The good news is that once the perpetrator is killed or apprehended, the time limit is lifted. You won't always have the option of bringing them in alive or dead, but you will frequently. If you want to go in with all weapons blazing, just charge into the bunker and start shooting. You'll be able to scavenge the gang boss's body for proof of your assassination.

You'll have to be considerably more stealthy if you want to take them alive: you'll have to sneak up on the target and knock them unconscious. This only applies to the gang leader, so you can kill other base guards, but if the boss is alerted, violence will be your only option. You'll be given a fresh prompt to arrest the unwitting criminal once you've knocked them out. You'll have to slip back out of the camp at that time, as they'll be following you in handcuffs. It's worth noting that even if the situation becomes tense, you'll still be able to deliver the boss alive as long as they don't get caught in the crossfire.

You'll need to return to the town where you took the bounty at this point. Speak with the sheriff, turn over the criminal or proof of murder, and get your reward. It's worth noting that bringing a bounty in alive can lead to a grudge. If their crew springs them, they'll almost certainly try to shoot you down afterward. It's a thrilling occasion, but you must be prepared.
