Weird West: How to upgrade your weapons

Weird West is an isometric shooter that immerses players in a rich universe full of bandits, villains, and odd otherworldly adversaries that will test even the most jaded cowpoke. WolfEye Studios also provides players with a plethora of weapons to choose from, however, upgrading favoured weapons can be a bit complicated at first.

In Weird West, there are two paths for upgrading items: weapons require ore nuggets in three grades (copper, silver, and gold), and armour requires animal pelts obtained through hunting. As a result, making sure that characters have at least one pickaxe and a skinning satchel in their inventory will ensure that resources can be harvested whenever the opportunity arises. The little forge icon on the info card indicates that weapons can be improved at forges situated in towns.

By hovering over a weapon in the inventory, players will be able to see what resource and how much of it is required to advance to the next tier. Nuggets of ore are used to upgrade weapons, while ingots are sold at the bank; players can switch between the two at forges at a 2:1 ratio of the nugget to ingot.

If you discover you have weapons in your character inventory that needs upgrading, it's a good idea to spend some time at the start of each voyage gathering your favourite companions and visiting mines placed around the landscape. Between journeys, these mines will remain in the same position, albeit they may vary substantially depending on certain selections.

Upgrading weapons boosts the amount earned when selling them to vendors, so upgrading some weapons before selling them could be advantageous if players have a lot of copper ores. Make use of the other characters in your party by asking to see their inventory and forcing them to carry ores and ingots to make room for additional goodies.

While upgrading weapons using ores takes time, collecting the ores strewn over the globe and keeping track of inventory is a great way to boost firepower without breaking the bank. While Legendary-tier guns can easily outperform DPS-upgraded weapons, manually upgrading weaponry will ensure that your group remains at the forefront of the Wild West.
