Elden Ring: How to use Heavy Thrusting Swords and where to find them
Many Elden Ring players will wind up with Heavy Thrusting Swords after finding the basic Thrusting Sword class to be underwhelming – they may instead wish to wield a thrusting weapon with enough reach and damage. The Heavy Thrusting Sword weapons, like the Great and Colossal Swords, distinguish themselves from the Thrusting Swords by being larger and more feasible in a wider range of circumstances. This is owing to their capacity to breach shields and expand their reach and damage. That isn't to suggest that Thrusting Swords are without flaws; they do, after all, require a little more Strength and Dexterity levels than their ordinary Thrusting Sword counterparts. They can attack with little wind-up and space between attacks for the most part. However, this comes at a minor expense in terms of stamina.
Heavy thrusting weapons in Elden Ring
Bloody Helice
The Bloody Helice is unique for its Dynast's Finesse skill, which offers users a few invincibility frames during its wind up and dishes out a good amount of Blood Loss accumulation, making it an excellent choice for any Bleed damage setups. Potential Bloody Helice wielders must battle the Sanguine Noble in the WritheBlood Ruins to the north of the Second Church of Marika, in addition to having 16 Strength, 19 Dexterity, and 17 Arcane.
Dragon King’s Cragblade
The Dragon King's Cragblade, which harnesses the power of thunder and has a game-breaking skill, isn't an easy weapon to obtain or use until later in the game, but any Elden Ring player with a level 37 Dexterity and 18 Strength skill should go out of their way to obtain it. The Cragblade's most famous feature is its Thundercloud Formability, which transforms the user into a cloud of lightning and delivers a devastating downward slash. To obtain the Cragblade, you must first defeat Dragonlord Placidasax in the Crumbling Farum Azula and then deliver over their Remembrance to Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
Godskin Stitcher
The Godskin Stitcher is a capital "T" Thrusting weapon that lacks a special skill or damage type but makes up for it by being a standard in the Heavy Thrusting Swords category. The Godskin Stitcher's perspective wielder must also kill the Godskin Noble at Volcano Manor, which requires 14 Strength and 17 Dexterity.
Great Épée
One of the original Heavy Thrusting Swords made available in the game, the Great Épée is simply a larger and more useful replica of the Elden Ring’s Rapier and Escott swords and keeps many of the same features. This includes the ability to attack from behind shields and the primary use of thrusting attacks, but with the extra benefit of increased range, making the weapon more effective when fighting several adversaries. The Épée is the first Heavy Thrusting Sword, with lower skill requirements of 15 Strength and 16 Dexterity. It may be discovered in a chest near a clump of Godrick's warriors to the southeast of the Agheel Lake southern Site of Grace.
