Elden Ring multiplayer servers will be temporarily down for maintenance and patch 1.04 update

The multiplayer servers for Elden Ring will be temporarily unavailable today as FromSoftware performs weekly maintenance and releases a new version update. Patch 1.04 will be released today, following maintenance, and a recent tweet from the official account revealed some details about when the servers would be shut down and for how long. The Elden Ring servers will be unavailable from 1.00 a.m. PT/8.00 a.m. UTC/5.00 p.m. JST, according to the official announcement. The tweet also stated that the servers would be down for around an hour across all locations and that the patch 1.04 update would be available soon after.

While FromSoftware stated that the servers would be offline for an hour, it's important to keep in mind that maintenance could take longer. Many things can go wrong during the patching process, so gamers who want to start playing right away may have to wait a bit longer.

What can you expect from the Elden Ring 1.04 update?

While FromSoftware has yet to release any additional information about what users can expect from the impending version update, it is unlikely that the patch will be significant. Many members of the community believe that the update will include minor balancing changes as well as address some of the current performance difficulties that PC gamers have been experiencing since the game's release.

Elden Ring's patch version 1.03, which was released a few weeks ago, brought a slew of balancing changes to the RPG, with the developers aiming to make major changes to both items and weapon skills. The Hoarfrost Stomp and other speedrunning gadgets have been nerfed, and new NPC questlines have been added.

FromSoftware also rectified an issue with Starscourge Radahn in later mini-patches, where a bug caused the optional boss to deal less damage than intended. The fix aimed to make him one of the game's most difficult bosses once more. Another issue that FromSoftware can address in this update is the problem that causes Caelid's bleed dogs to deal over 11,000 damage in a single attack animation. In a recent video, Soulsborne modder Zulie the Witch pointed out the flaw, describing how the hitboxes for this opponent type cause them to do crazy amounts of damage.
