Kirby and the Forgotten Land: How to beat Phantom Gorimondo
As you go through Kirby and the Forgotten Land's post-game, you'll come across different versions of the boss fights you encountered in the main adventure. The first is against Phantom Gorimondo at the end of Forgo Plains. Here's how to defeat him. Phantom Gorimondo fights in a similar manner to the original Gorimondo boss battle, although this version is faster, stronger, and has a few different attacks.
The first attack you should be on the lookout for is when he approaches you with his hand out in front of him. When he gets close enough, he will swipe at you and grasp you. You can jump over his swipe, but if he gets you, you must rapidly twist the left stick to avoid being spiked into the ground. He also possesses a fast strike in which he sweeps his arms three times in succession at you. It's a little tricky to get the timing right on this, but simply leap and float to dodge it.
Gorimondo will eventually go to pick up a boulder and chuck it at you. Because the boulder bounces and comes at you swiftly, run to the side to avoid it. Suck up and fire the stars at them while he watches you if you don't have an ability. Prepare to jump over some shockwaves when you watch him hop up and down. There will be five in a row that you must avoid. The first three are the most common obstacles to overcome. The fourth one requires you to float over it, and the last one requires you to execute a quick leap in between the waves.
When Phantom Gorimondo is reduced to one-third health, he will learn a new move in which he spins around, creating tornadoes that pick up stones and toss them straight out. Avoid them and take advantage of the fact that he is disoriented to inflict more damage. You should have no trouble knocking down this boss and going on to the next level after you gain a feel for his attacks.
