MLB The Show 22: How to get cover athletes

The Cover Athletes in Diamond Dynasty's Legends & Flashbacks section offer a look at past and present baseball superstars that have appeared on The Show. These are all diamond-level purchases that can completely fill out your lineup on their own. You'll be rewarded a Diamond 96 OVR Joe Mauer if you collect all 12 cards, which will be highly sought after on the Marketplace. In MLB The Show 22's Diamond Dynasty, here's how to earn the Cover Athlete cards.

Cover Athlete Packs

The most efficient and effective method of obtaining Cover Athlete players is to open the packets linked with the group. You get to choose one of the 12 players to add to your collection when you open one. As of this writing, the only way to get a Cover Athlete pack is to buy MLB The Show 22's MVP or Deluxe editions. You only get one pack with your purchase, but they may become available for purchase using Stubs at a later date during an event. For the time being, though, there is only one alternative way to obtain these cards.

Marketplace

In Diamond Dynasty, players can sell any card they have acquired on the in-game Marketplace. You may either search for the card there or go to the Cover Athletes section of Legends & Flashbacks in Collections and check for it there. To bring up a side menu, place your cursor on the card you want and hit Square on PlayStation, Y on Nintendo Switch, or X on Xbox. Select View in Marketplace, and you'll be taken straight to a list of current offers for that card.
