MLB The Show 22: How to rob a home run
One of the most spectacular defensive plays you'll ever see in a baseball game is leaping up a wall to bring back a home run. It's a huge momentum-shifting play that, depending on how close the game is, might decide who wins or loses. It's a patience and timing exercise that will get your heart racing and your audience cheering. In MLB The Show 22, here's how to rob home runs.
As previously indicated, robbing a home run will require patience and good timing, as well as a little luck. While a ball may appear to be close to the wall, some will be just out of reach. However, viewing the game's IDs will give you a good idea.
Make sure the Catch Position Indicator is set to either Drifting Ball or TrackBall in your Fielding settings to ensure you have the proper alternatives. Off the Wall Ribbon should also be enabled. These alternatives will provide your fielder a decent sense of where to go for the best opportunity to catch the ball, depending on their fielding attributes.
A line of arrows will indicate a ball's trajectory if it is about to go over the wall. The ball is coming down as the indicators become green, and you can get an estimate of how quickly you need to leap as the indicators turn green. Line up the arrows and press R1 on PlayStation, RB on Xbox, or ZR on Nintendo Switch after the top one goes green. Your fielder will sprint to the wall and, if necessary, reach over to catch a home run.
