We've been waiting a long time for a new MacBook Air, to the point where we think Apple's next notebook should be the MacBook Air 2022, though we may have to wait a little longer. Despite the fact that the latest MacBook Air has enough power, its appearance looks a touch dated when compared to similar laptops from Dell and Asus. However, this could indicate that the next MacBook Air won't benefit from super-slim bezels. This isn't to say that bezels won't be slimmed at all; they just won't be as substantial as those on the current MacBook Pros.

The screen, like the iPad Pro 2021 and future MacBook Pros, is believed to employ a mini-LED display, which should improve brightness and colors. Ming-Chi Kuo, on the other hand, rejects this, claiming that the laptop would have a totally new form factor that does not incorporate mini-LEDs. The M2 chip is said to include the same eight CPU cores as the M1, plus two to three more graphics cores for a total of 10. The RAM and storage will most likely be the same as the current Air, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD capacity. However, we wouldn't be surprised if Apple made the MacBook Air 2022 available with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
