No Man’s Sky: How to get Living Slime and what it does

For smooth growth in No Man's Sky, players will need to collect numerous resources. Living Slime is one of these resources, and it's utilized to make Nanite Cluster, an alternate kind of in-game cash.

How to get Living Slime and what it does

The Living Slime is a deadly creature that moves at a glacial pace. The resource can be gained in a variety of ways, including:
  • In Galactic Trade Terminals, players can buy and sell Living Slime (Galactic Market).
  • The alien-infested Derelict Freighter contains Living Slime. However, because intercepting a derelict freighter is not assured, this strategy should not be relied upon significantly.
  • It can be collected as a rare drop from Exotic worlds' killer fauna.

You can get the Living Slime through refining other resources, in addition to getting it directly. One Viscous Fluids can be refined into one Living Slime and one Hypnotic Eye may be refined into 50 Living Slime using a Refiner.

Although there is a lot of Living Slime around, it isn't really useful. It isn't used in any of the culinary or crafting processes. Living Slime's only known use is that it can eventually be refined into Nanite Cluster, the game's secondary currency.
